What CMITO has to offer you

Opportunities for students

CMITO makes it easy for students by providing the first step to our vibrant industry.

We work with Career Counsellors and stage regular Careers Breakfasts to keep you up-to-date with the exciting opportunities available in communications and media. We also participate in the Gateway Programme which helps senior students bridge the gap between school and workplace learning.

Opportunities for current employees in the industry

Looking to up-skill or gain formal recognition for the skills you already have? CMITO can help you access the right training programmes to further your career in the communications and media industries.

Our Training Liaison Officers can work with you to determine which training programme will help you fulfil your career goals. And if you’re completing an apprenticeship or other CMITO training programme we’ll work with you to make sure you stay on track and motivated as you work towards an internationally recognised qualification.

Opportunities for current employers

The benefits of on-the-job training are well documented – motivated staff, higher levels of retention in the workplace, fewer accidents and cost effective training. That’s why we will help you take on trainees or steer your existing employees into workplace training programmes.

Our flexible approach means we can help tailor qualifications to meet the individual needs of your workplace. We can help you access industry specific programmes, or link you to providers offering general training in first aid, health and safety, sales and management.

Opportunities for providers

CMITO is the first point of call for students, employers and providers involved in the communications and media industries.

We are committed to providing high quality and comprehensive unit standards and qualifications, enabling those who work or plan to work in our industry to remain ahead of the game. As technology requirements change, so to do the training needs of the industry. We work closely with providers and our industry to ensure qualifications and training programmes remain relevant, up-to-date and consistent.

We are happy to offer providers advice on the Quality Management Systems (AMAP) required for the delivery and assessment of CMITO unit standards and qualifications.
